Leaders of G7 countries issue a joint statement on the situation in Ukraine

The Joint Communiqué of the Group of the World’s Leading Developed Industries (G7) shows the unity of the member states, which continues to call on Russia to stop its military operation in Ukraine, to resolve disagreements. through dialogue in accordance with the provisions of international law, open safe corridors to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine.

In addition, the G7 countries affirmed to continue tightening economic and financial sanctions imposed on Russia in the past time, and at the same time are ready to apply additional sanctions.

Notably, G7 countries will strengthen cooperation and call on governments to impose similar sanctions on Russia; tasked the relevant ministers to supervise the implementation of sanctions and prevent sanctions evasion related to gold transactions of the Central Bank of Russia.

G7 countries also agreed to find solutions to reduce dependence on supply gas of Russia, especially investing in the development of clean energy, and at the same time coordinating with the World Food Program, multilateral development banks and international financial institutions to address food insecurity risks arising from stress related to Ukraine situation.
