The NATO chief added that the leaders of the bloc agreed to strengthen their defenses over the long term, to face new security threats and for deterrence. In addition, NATO will deploy additional forces to the east of the alliance, especially to deal with “rapid threats”. Accordingly, NATO will deploy more aircraft and strengthen integrated surface-to-air defense capabilities, large groups of warships, submarines as well as combat ships will be ready at all times.

The NATO Secretary-General also announced that allied countries in the bloc have agreed to expand their support to Ukraine by equipping the country with significant military equipment, including air defense systems, aircraft. effective tank and air defense systems, along with significant financial support. NATO will also provide Ukraine with protective equipment against chemical, biological and nuclear threats, and will also protect forces deployed on the eastern flank against these threats.

However, Stoltenberg stressed that NATO will not deploy forces in Ukraine, but fulfill its responsibility to ensure that the conflict does not escalate further, causing further danger and destruction.
