A temple in Hue City has volunteered to hand over four rare monkeys received from local people to the rangers to release into the natural environment.
This morning (March 25), news from Hue City Forest Protection Department said that the unit has just received 4 rare monkeys and is carrying out legal procedures to release into the wild.

Accordingly, out of the 4 newly received monkeys, there are 3 pigtail monkeys (scientific name Macaca leonina) with a weight of 5kg and 1 individual red-faced monkey (scientific name Macaca arctoides) weighing 5kg all belong to group IIB. endangered and rare forest animals under the Government’s Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021. The monkeys mentioned above were received from the people by Quang Minh pagoda (Thuy Xuan ward, Hue city) to free them.
After that, Quang Minh Pagoda volunteered to hand over 4 rare monkeys to the forest rangers and wanted to release the individuals to the natural environment.
According to the Hue City Forest Protection Department, at the time of receiving 4 monkeys were in good health and were raised in cages.
The Forest Protection Department is carrying out procedures to release the monkeys to a suitable environment.
