There are still 8 destinations that have not reopened regular flights to Vietnam

Vietnam has resumed regular flights to 20 countries and regions as before the epidemic, while 8 destinations have not reopened.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, as of March 25, there were 23 airlines operating 67 flight routes between Vietnam and 20 countries and regions. 8 destinations that have not reopened regular routes with Vietnam include: Brunei, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Macau (China), Finland, Italy, and Switzerland.

When Vietnam opened to international tourism (15 March), Singapore was the airline operating with the largest frequency – 45 round-trip flights per week, reaching 36% over the same period in 2019. It is estimated that April will have more routes between Singapore , Taiwan, Korea and Da Nang.

In the first quarter of 2022, the number of international passengers passing through Vietnam’s airports reached around 321,000, up 176% over the same period last year. Where flights between Vietnam and Japan are the busiest, the airline carries 10,300 passengers, accounting for 18% of the total number of passengers on international routes.

Passengers traveling within the country in the first quarter decreased due to the epidemic situation. Domestic airlines exploit 60 domestic routes connecting Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with locality. The total number of passengers passing through the airport reached 13 million, a decrease of 13% compared to the same period in 2021.

According to Ministry of Health regulations, people who enter by air must test negative for nCoV by PCR within 72 hours; if the rapid test for 24 hours (certified) before leaving the country.

If there is no test, within the first 24 hours of entry, from the border gate to the place of stay (hotel, private house, etc.), the passenger needs to limit stops and contact other people. After a negative test result, they are free to travel.

Children under 2 years old are not required to be tested and accompanied by their parents and relatives.
