“By order of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the first official exchange of prisoners has taken place,” Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk wrote on Facebook on March 24.

“In exchange for the 10 captured (Russian) soldiers, we rescued 10 (Ukraine) servicemen,” Vereshchuk added.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Vereshchuk, 11 Russian sailors rescued near the Black Sea port city of Odessa have been exchanged with 19 crew members of the Ukrainian civilian ship detained by Moscow.
