One week before admission to the emergency room, the baby felt chest tightness and difficulty breathing with increasing frequency.

Assessing the possibility of the patient experiencing post-Covid-19 sequelae, the doctors conducted an interdisciplinary consultation and decided to have minimally pleural effusion, drainage, and post-operative treatment. Currently, the patient is stable, has less shortness of breath, and the SpO2 index has improved.

According to BSCKI Le Quyet Thang, Head of General Surgery Department of Lao Cai General Hospital, lung damage after Covid-19 infection is a common sequelae for F0, with different degrees of injury, but the most common is the condition. pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, affecting respiratory function.

Particularly, the state of the lung infection and necrosis, creating many abscesses inside the chest cavity has been recorded in reports on Covid-19 around the world.

To protect the lungs after Covid-19, to avoid the silent progression that can worsen, causing respiratory failure; Patients who have been infected with Covid-19 with symptoms of shortness of breath, especially shortness of breath with signs of chest tightness, need to go to medical facilities for screening and health check.

The subjects at risk of suffering a lot of damage after being infected with Covid-19 are the group of people with severe pneumonia, who have been on ventilators, received ECMO treatment, are elderly, and have underlying medical conditions who need to go to the doctor soon.
