In China, there is a type of lychee that is considered one of the most expensive fruits in the world. It is a “household” fabric that originates from the Tang Thanh area of Guangzhou.

In a 2011 auction, “historical” lychees were also auctioned for 550,000 yuan/piece (about 1.8 billion VND at the then market price) the equivalent of a Mercedes.

Lychee has a beautiful color, the outer skin has 2 colors red and green, with a ratio of 6:4 and a green line, a distinctive sweet taste, fresh and thick flesh, very small seeds.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, for the past 400 years, lychee production has only reached a few dozen fruits per year.

This is also the reason why the price is so high. Some people even compare that they don’t have to have money to buy “heirloom” cloth to enjoy it.

Apart from lychees, many other fruits are also very expensive, only the super rich would pay to enjoy them.
