The city considers this to be a huge challenge, pressure and difficulty for the grassroots health system if it does not promptly provide technological solutions and recommend people to raise their awareness.

Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh assessed this situation as a burden on health care at all levels, especially at grassroots level. Procedures are piling up while medical staff still have to continue to check for at-risk subjects, elderly people with underlying medical conditions, etc. who have not received enough Covid-19 vaccine shots.
Hanoi President requested departments and districts to manage infected people through software, strengthen coordination of forces to reduce the load on the grassroots health system. In this regard, Ms. Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, requested to simplify the procedure, increase the use of F0 management software and maximize the application of technology.
In the following days, the number of cases continued to decrease. Omicron “stealth” prevails
Omicron is the main circulating strain in Hanoi. On March 9, the results of gene sequencing of 93/109 random samples were identified as contaminated with Omicron, accounting for 85.3%. Of these, the sub-variant BA.2, or “stealth” Omicron, dominates with 86/93 samples.
According to studies, Omicron consists of 3 branches BA.1, BA.2, BA.3. According to the Ministry of Health, the sub-variant BA.2 is spreading around the world, its ability to spread is 1.5 times faster than the original variant BA.1 and has the ability to avoid the immune impact of current vaccines. about 30% more than the original BA.1 variant. Doctor Nguyen Trung Trung, Deputy Director of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases said, so far there is no evidence that people with BA.2 cause more severe disease than BA.1 or other strains.

Usually, to identify a viral strain, one has to do a gene sequencing test. As for the Omicron BA.1 variant, because it has a missing mutation in some genes, it can be detected immediately by PCR, not gene sequencing.
In contrast to Omicron BA.2 due to the absence of these mutations, when PCR testing only identified the SARS-CoV-2 virus but not immediately as Omicron, it was assigned the name “stealth Omicron” “.
