The Ministry of Health has the latest guidance on booster doses of Covid-19 vaccine

Recently, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son has just signed and promulgated an official document on vaccination against Covid-19 with basic dose and booster dose.

Specifically, the latest guidance from the Ministry of Health allows people who have received the full basic dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to receive a booster dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. The minimum injection duration is 3 months after the last dose of the primary dose.

The Ministry of Health also informed that by March 25, the country had injected a total of 204,566,009 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. In there:

The number of injections for people aged 18 years and over is 187,444,998 doses. Includes: 1st dose is 71,195,421 doses; The second dose is 67,958,781 doses; The third dose is 1,499,176 doses; The additional dose was 14,789,217 doses; The booster dose is 32,002,403 doses.

The number of doses for children from 12 to 17 years old is 17,121,011 doses. Includes: 1st dose is 8,778,817 doses; The second dose is 8,342,194 doses.

As of mid-March 2022, Vietnam is one of the six countries with the highest Covid-19 vaccine coverage in the world. The rate of vaccine coverage for people aged 18 years and over: 100% for 1 dose, 99% for 2 doses, and 43.5% for people who have received the 3rd dose. For people from 12 to 17 years old: 1 dose is 99%, 2 doses is 94%.
