The organizers expect eight players to attend the main stage will go to Oslo, Norway to compete directly.

The main leg has a prize money of 210,000 USD, averaging 26,250 USD per player. 8 players play in a round robin, one match a day. Each match, the two players play 4 quick games against each other, with a series of blitz tie-breaks if drawn 2-2. The player who wins from the fast chess gets 3 points, the loser 0 points. If the chess player wins, the player gets 2 points and the loser gets 1 point. For each point won, the player is awarded $2,500. Thus, the maximum bonus that each player can win is 52,500 USD. If a player scores less than two points, they still receive a minimum of $5,000.
