List of candidates who won the national excellent student contest for the academic year 2021 – 2022

Bac Ninh (10 prizes), Vinh Phuc (8 prizes) are the two leading localities in the country in the number of first prizes in this year’s national competition for excellent students. Overall, along with Bac Ninh, the specialized division of Hanoi National University also ranked first in the number of first prizes (10 prizes). Followed by Hanoi (7 prizes), Ho Chi Minh City (7 prizes), Hai Phong (6 prizes).

Thus, this year Bac Ninh has risen to the top, while Vinh Phuc continues to maintain its position in the top of the localities with the most first prizes. Last year, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi were the two localities in this position.

Bac Ninh and Vinh Phuc lead the country in the number of first prizes (excluding specialized blocks of universities).

Considering the total number of prizes, Hanoi (125 prizes), Hai Phong (85 prizes), Hai Duong (82 prizes) are the 3 localities with the most candidates winning first prizes. Next is Nghe An (79 prizes), Ha Tinh (74 prizes). Among the specialized universities under the university, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has 76 prizes; Hanoi National University of Education has 57 prizes, Ho Chi Minh City National University has 46 prizes, Vinh University has 18 prizes, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has 3 prizes.

The national exam to select excellent students in high schools in 2022 with 12 subjects, with 4,671 candidates. As a result, there were 2,319 candidates who won prizes, the rate of winning was 49.6%, equivalent to the previous school year and decreased compared to the period 2015 – 2020 (the rate of winning was from 50 – 60%).

In Mathematics, the whole country has 10 first prizes, of which Vinh Phuc, Nghe An, and High School for the Gifted (National University of Ho Chi Minh City) have 2 first prizes. The remaining 4 first prizes belonged to students from Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi), Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Ba Ria – Vung Tau) and High School for the Gifted of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University), Thai Binh High School for the Gifted.

Meanwhile, English has 9 first prizes, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted (HCMC) is the leading school for the gifted with 4 first prizes in English.

In Literature, the whole country had 4 first prizes belonging to students in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Lam Dong and Hai Duong.

The subject with the most prizes is Chemistry with 12 prizes. Next was Physics, Biology and Informatics with 11 first prizes, and Geography with 10 first prizes.

There are nearly 20 10th graders in the country who won prizes in this year’s national excellent student competition.
