More than 190 countries and territories responded to the Earth Hour campaign

Last night, a famous temple in Hualien City, Eastern Taiwan (China) turned off its lights in response to the 15th Earth Hour.

The lights go off between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. local time in every country where Earth Hour is taking place.

Originating from an iconic light-out event in Sydney, Australia in 2007, Earth Hour has become the world’s largest environmental movement.

In Vietnam, the act of turning off unnecessary lights and electrical equipment in response to the Earth Hour 2022 campaign took place in many provinces and cities across the country at 20:30-21:30 last night. In the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic in the past few years, Earth Hour has changed its format to online instead of in-person events.

And last night for 1 hour, although it was an encouraging activity, the act of turning off the lights and unnecessary electrical equipment was voluntarily responded by many organizations and individuals. Thereby saving hundreds of millions of dong for the national electricity grid.
