“It’s one way to negotiate, to bring 200,000 troops to the border,” Trump said. “It was a big mistake, but it looked like a very good deal. Even though it didn’t go well for him.”
Mr. Trump has also previously made statements praising the Russian president, which has drawn criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.
