The Russian military began its special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, and progress has gone according to plan. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Donbass separatists now control 93% of the Lugansk region and 54% of the Donetsk region.

General Sergei Rudskoy – Director of the Operations Department, General Staff of the Russian Army said: “The main objectives in the first phase of the operation have been completed. The combat potential of the Ukrainian army has been significantly reduced. This allows me to emphasize once again, to focus my efforts on achieving the main goal – the liberation of Donbass”.

The Russian Defense Ministry does not rule out landings in Ukrainian cities that have been blockaded by Russian forces. Russia will react immediately to any attempt to close Ukrainian airspace – something Kiev has repeatedly asked NATO to do but NATO has refused.

Regarding Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman recently criticized US President Biden’s statements aimed at Russian President Putin, and said that personal insults always reduce opportunities in bilateral relations between Russia and the United States.
