AFP news agency (France) reported that Taal volcano erupted at 7:22 am on March 26 (local time).

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology warns that Taal is likely to continue to erupt, causing many dangers such as gas flows, fast-moving ash and even tsunamis.

People in 5 farming and fishing areas near Taal volcano have received information to evacuate. Local officials say more than 12,000 people live in the most at-risk area.

Below is a video of Taal volcano erupting by AFP (France) news agency:

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the initial eruption produced a plume of smoke 1,500 meters high, prompting them to raise the alert level from 2 to 3 on a scale of 0 to 5.

The director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Mr. Renato Solidum, assessed this time the Taal volcano’s activity was weaker than in January 2020. Once there, the volcano produced ash that rose up to 15km and spewed red-hot lava, destroying many homes, killing livestock and forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
