Yamaha Tenere 700 – off-road motorcycle for almost 400 million VND

In the introduction event for the first motorcycle dealer in Vietnam, Yamaha introduced the adventure motorcycle series with the new model Tenere 700. In the road car segment in Vietnam, the Tenere 700 competes with KTM 790 Adventure R rival, Triumph Tiger 660.

The Tenere 700 is aimed at customers who like to experience and challenge extreme roads. The vehicle uses a lightweight twin-tube steel frame, with a ground clearance of 240 mm for multi-terrain versatility. The design of the car is driver-oriented, and the cover protects the steering wheel every ride. The combination of a flat saddle, bodywork and fuel tank for a comfortable and flexible stance.

Large KYB 43 mm reverse stroke front shock absorbers with 200 mm stroke, adjustable compression and elasticity. Single rear KYB fork. As an adventure trail, the Tenere 700 is equipped with a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Rally spokes with 21-inch front rims and 18-inch rear rims. Single disc brakes each, with 282mm front disc and 245mm rear disc. Dual channel ABS anti-lock braking system can be turned on/off.

Yamaha provides the Tenere 700 with a 700 cc 2 cylinder liquid-cooled engine with a capacity of 73 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, maximum torque of 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Compared to the competition, Yamaha’s adventure model lacks technology. According to the manufacturer’s announcement, the fuel consumption of the Tenere 700 is 4.3 liters / 100 km of mixed roads.

As planned, the Yamaha Tenere 700 was sold for 399 million. While its rivals KTM 790 Adventure R is priced at 479 million and Triumph Tiger Sport 660 for 299 million.

Revzone Yamaha Motor in Ho Chi Minh City was the first Yamaha dealer to distribute large displacement bicycles in Vietnam, even though the brand has been operating for 24 years. The main rivals to Yamaha’s big-shift line were Honda, which owned the Big Bike showroom, and Piaggio had the Motoplex.

The Revzone workshop is divided into 4 areas, including Quick service (Quick maintenance and repair), Heavy services (heavy repair), Detailing (car maintenance) and waiting room. Apart from the Tenere 700 from the Adventure line, the Japanese manufacturer also distributes other lines such as Nakedbike, Supersport and Sport Touring, ranging from 150-1,000 cc.

Initially, the company did not set a sales target as well as a main car line, but only focused on after-sales service, directing Revzone to be a destination for motorcycle riders in Vietnam, said a Yamaha representative.
