Pretend to cause an accident to save people

Lying causes accidents to save people in the middle of the night

On the morning of March 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, 45 years old, residing in Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province posted an urgent notice on his personal Facebook page. “The person who had a very serious accident, near the new road 5 registration in Hai Phong. The young man had no identification papers, no phone”.

Before that, Mr. Luc drove a container truck from Hai Phong to Phu Tho, when he reached National Highway 5 (direction from Hai Phong – Hanoi), the section through Hong Bang District, City. Hai Phong, he discovered an “object” blocking the road. Closer to check, he was shocked to realize it was a young man, lying motionless around a pool of blood.

With 24 years of long-distance driving experience, meeting and helping 30 people with traffic accidents, he quickly stopped the car, turned on the warning signal to keep the scene, and protect the accident.

To prove that he was the one who stopped to help, not caused an accident, the male driver took out his phone to live stream (livestream) on social networks. Approaching the victim, Luc saw that this person was awake but showing signs of shock due to excessive blood loss. He tried to call for help from passersby, but no vehicle stopped.

“The accident happened at night, the road was empty, people were afraid of being involved, so they didn’t help,” Luc said.

The male driver thought of a way to help the victim get into his car’s cabin, but was afraid that the victim would be in more pain. Moreover, the container truck is higher than 4m, it is difficult to move inside the hospital.

Luc stood in the middle of the road, constantly waving the car. From motorbikes, taxis, containers all passed one by one. After more than 10 minutes, he saw a man in his 30s riding a motorbike, turned into an alley near the scene, and immediately shouted. This person enthusiastically turned around and asked the male driver why there was such a bloody person?

To get help, Mr. Luc “changed direction”, lying that he was the one who caused the accident. “I kept calling, but no one helped, so I immediately admitted that I was the cause of the accident so that people would see that they were responsible, and then took the victim to the emergency room,” Mr. Luc said.

People agreed to take the victim’s motorbike home, and then helped Mr. Luc carry the injured person to the container truck. Both took the victim to Hai Phong Transport Hospital, 2km from the scene and continued to move to Viet Tiep Hospital (Hai Phong) for emergency treatment. At the hospital, the young man was still awake, but could not remember the exact phone number of his family.

“I am willing to pay for the treatment of the victim or call my family to support me. I used to think, if no one helped, I would take a taxi to take the victim to the hospital,” he said.

After handing over the patient to the doctor and asking the motorbike driver to stay and take care of him, Mr. Luc left his phone number and continued the shipment. The next morning, he looked at the car and saw the victim’s blood clinging to the door, tires, especially on the side of the cargo.

“In my life, I have never seen a case of so much blood loss,” Luc exclaimed.

At 10 am, he received a phone call from the victim’s family, telling him that the young man had woken up and gradually recovered.

Do The Anh, 23 years old, residing in Vinh Bao, City. Hai Phong, is a lucky person to be saved by Mr. Luc. The Anh said, on the night of March 11, on the way home, he was unfortunately hit hard, half awake and half asleep.

The collision caused The Anh to suffer a soft tissue injury, 40 stitches in the head. On March 20, he was discharged home. “When I was at the hospital, I just sent a message to thank Mr. Luc. When my health is stable, I will go to my family to thank me”, the young man said.

Luc “crazy” is only good at taking care of how much money

Every day, Mr. Nguyen Van Luc only sleeps 2-3 hours, the rest of the time runs the shipping container. Regularly, he will drive to Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to pick up the goods, then return to Hai Phong to lower another container and bring it to Hanoi.

The work is tiring, hard and dangerous, he also knows “too much to bear for the average person”, but has been used to it for more than 20 years. He works hard because he is the main source of income in the family. His wife has been sick for 13 years, just staying at home, with two young children, 5 and 13 years old.

“The intensity of work is terrible. Sometimes sleeping in the car, coming home just in time to shower. Sunday is half a day off, then 4 am the next morning,” he said.

On late night journeys, if he didn’t encounter thieves, Mr. Luc was also repeatedly “begged for” by strangers. With his inherent bravery, he handled everything quickly. Remember once when a bandit put a knife to his neck, he stubbornly did not give money, ready to “handle”. This guy was scared to run away, the next day he reported to the area police.

After 24 years, helping 30 victims in accidents, Mr. Luc was called a “crazy”, “crazy”, “eating at home and serving in prison”.

He said, in Hanoi, 15 days before the Lunar New Year, around noon, a victim fell from a car and lay motionless, bleeding all over his ears, nose and head. People all think that this person is dead, throwing change around. Luc crossed the highway, jumped over some fences, saw that the victim was still awake and his limbs were moving. He took a taxi and brought the injured person to the hospital with the concept of “still water”.

One day a few years ago in Phu Tho, around 5am, a container driver, due to drowsiness, crashed into the back of another container at the waiting station. All surrounding vehicles fled the scene. 15 minutes later, Mr. Luc arrived at the station and discovered that the victim’s face was crushed but his limbs were still warm.

On the way to take the victim to the emergency room, Mr. Luc grabbed this person’s hand, realizing that he had also lost a finger like him. The male driver immediately comforted the victim, “I give you some energy, because my hand is also missing a finger like yours”. But unfortunately, the victim died as soon as he arrived at the hospital gate, making Mr. Luc haunted and tormented until now.

“If it’s only 5-7 minutes fast, that person will be saved,” Mr. Luc regrets.

Not only saving people, Mr. Luc also stood up many times to testify to accidents and was invited by the police to take testimony. “In front of the authorities, I was the first to appear at the scene, so I have to be responsible. Even though I was involved, I didn’t pay attention, telling the truth,” he said.

He was even misunderstood by the victim’s family to break his arm, curse and threaten. After being unfairly beaten many times, learning from experience, he livestreamed the incident on his personal Facebook page whenever he met someone in need.

“Others are afraid of being involved, but I am not. This shipment may be slow, but it has to save lives. Many drivers are afraid of blood stains or fear of dead people on the car, so most of them run away. But I think I’m fast. The injured are still alive. Let’s save people first, other things will come later,” said the male driver.

Seeing that her husband was often misunderstood and beaten unfairly, his wife advised him to be careful many times, but Mr. Luc insisted that he did not do anything contrary to social morality.

The male driver is rustic, simple, determined to save as many people as possible despite being called “crazy”, “crazy”

The male driver wanted to help the victim continue to live, ignoring the thank you. He said that what he did was not to ask for anything, no gifts, no rewards, no money. He thought, trying fast 5-10 minutes could have saved a life.

“I don’t accept anything from anyone. I do it for a society with love and morality going up, regardless of the benefits,” he affirmed.

In the future, driver Luc will continue to work on goods and help people in distress. Before, his friends and brothers did not understand, calling him “a man of money”, but he ignored it and remained steadfast in his opinion.

He recommends that new drivers, if they encounter dangerous roads, or are drowsy, should not try to control the vehicle. Whether the car owner pressures or threatens to fine, the driver is determined not to run if in an unsafe condition. If the car breaks down or crashes for money, the driver will have to pay a very heavy price. 10 years ago, due to being forced to run by the goods owner, Mr. Luc was also bogged down. Since then, he was determined to drive calmly, so even in an emergency situation, he can still handle it promptly.

When the story of Mr. Luc “crazy” helping accident victims spread on social networks, he received the love of the online community. Love is more precious than any gift, he said. “I accept the blame, but receiving people’s love is more fun than giving money.”

In response, on his journeys, Mr. Luc was also thanked by the people and responded with the most sincere affection. Whether going to lunch or changing tires, many people recognize him and decide to give him free, but he doesn’t accept it. If the other party was really nice, he would just sit down and have a cup of tea and then leave.

In the past, a mechanic wanted to give Mr. Luc money to fix a tire. He agreed to receive, then sent the exact same amount of money back, and told the craftsman to buy a package of cakes for his son. “I also work as a hired worker, so does my uncle, no one is richer than anyone else.” No matter who bought him a package of cakes, he bought a similar package to repay the favor.

“What I do is not to get gifts or money, but only to get people’s love. A word of encouragement also makes me very happy,” the male driver laughed honestly.
