Every time the bamboo shoot season comes, they go to the mountains to harvest and then sell them to traders everywhere or sell them to tourists.

If anyone goes to Yen Tu for a spring tour, they will see at the foot of the mountain there are many sellers of fresh bamboo shoots. They will sell by weight or bundle at different prices. But the price ranges from 80,000 to 120,000 VND/kg, depending on the time of day.”

During the bamboo shoot season, Chu Chinh often buys weightlifting goods from people in the mountainous area of ​​Yen Tu. Then he took it back to the clean fruit and vegetable shop under Ha Long to sell it at a slightly higher price. However, customers are still enthusiastic about choosing several packs to be processed into delicious dishes.

Chu Chinh’s customers were mostly Quang Ninh people. Most of them know the delicacy of Yen Tu bamboo shoots, so very few people choose other types of bamboo shoots. “Bamboo shoots can be processed into many delicious dishes, but the most memorable are still bamboo shoots covered with sesame salt.

The bamboo shoots, once picked, are kept whole and then grilled over charcoal. Peeling the outer skin will reveal the white bamboo shoots inside and then dipping in the sesame salt will be delicious. The sweet bamboo shoots add a bit of bitterness to the salty taste of the sesame salt.”
