Throwing scissors on the chest caused her husband’s death, the wife received a sentence of 7 years in prison

On March 28, the People’s Court of Quang Nam province sentenced defendant Vo Thi Phuong (born in 1975, residing in An My ward, Tam Ky city) to 7 years in prison for the crime of “Murder”.

Duc himself has a bad character, has been to prison with 4 previous convictions. In April 2021, Duc finished serving his sentence and returned to live with Phuong in An My ward.According to the allegation, Bui Ngoc Duc (SN 1973) and defendant Phuong are husband and wife. The process of living together often leads to conflicts.

On the afternoon of July 6, 2021, after returning home in a drunken state, Duc asked Phuong about the amount of 15,000 VND and where his drug package was.

Defendant Phuong said he didn’t know, then the two got into an argument. At this time, Duc went to the kitchen to take out the scissors and waved it back and forth in front of Phuong, but it didn’t hit.

Angered, Phuong grabbed the scissors and threw them straight at Duc, causing the blade to pierce her husband’s chest. The victim was rushed to the hospital but did not survive due to his injuries.

After committing the crime, Phuong went to the police to confess.
