Top 10 high schools with the highest number of excellent students in the country

According to the results of the national exam for excellent students in the 2021-2022 school year announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, there were 2,225 high school students winning prizes across the country. (See here).

In terms of the total number of awards, Hanoi is the locality that has won the most prizes with 125 prizes, Hai Phong with 85 prizes, and Hai Duong with 82 prizes. Following is Nghe An with 79 prizes, Ha Tinh with 74 prizes.

Among public high schools, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong) ranks first in the country in terms of the number of excellent students – 82. Next is Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (Nghe An) with 79 students, Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi) 76, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted (Ha Tinh Province) 70, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh) 68, and High School for the Gifted. Bac Giang (Bac Giang) 66, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted (Vinh Phuc) 62, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (Bac Ninh) 61. Among the top 10 schools with an equal number of gifted students is Tran Phu (Hai Phong), who specializes in gifted students. Hung Vuong (Phu Tho), Lam Son (Thanh Hoa) and 58 children.

The top 10 schools above are mainly in the North area and 2 schools are in the Central region, there are no schools in the South.

In terms of localities with the most prizes in this year’s contest, Bac Ninh and the high schools for the gifted of Hanoi National University topped the number of first prizes (10 prizes). Next are Vinh Phuc 8 prizes, Hanoi 7 prizes, Ho Chi Minh City 7 prizes, Hai Phong 6 prizes.

Thus, this year, Bac Ninh rose to the top, while Vinh Phuc continued to maintain its position in the top of the localities with the most awards.

Among the specialized schools under the university, Hanoi University of Education for the Gifted High School has 57 prizes, followed by the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences with 49 prizes, the High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City with 46 prizes, the High School for the Gifted in Foreign Languages ​​19, and the High School for the Gifted. Vinh University 18, High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities 4.

The subject with the most prizes is Chemistry with 12 prizes. Next was Physics, Biology and Informatics with 11 first prizes, and Geography with 10 first prizes.

For Mathematics, the whole country has 10 first prizes, of which Vinh Phuc, Nghe An, High School for the Gifted (National University of Ho Chi Minh City) 2 first prizes. The remaining 4 first prizes belonged to students from Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi), Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Ba Ria – Vung Tau) and High School for the Gifted of Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University). The English subject has 9 first prizes, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted (HCMC) is the top school for the gifted with 4 first prizes in English.

In Literature, the whole country had 4 first prizes belonging to students in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Lam Dong and Hai Duong.

The national exam to select excellent students in high school in 2022 includes 12 exam subjects, with 4,671 candidates taking the exam. As a result, .225 candidates won prizes, the rate of winning was 49.6%, equivalent to the previous school year and decreasing compared to the period 2015 – 2020 (the rate of winning was from 50 – 60%).
