Two manifestations in 70% of people with post-Covid-19 syndrome

The list of post-Covid-19 manifestations is very diverse, in which, memory impairment and loss of concentration are common in many people.

Some people infected with Covid-19 not only face the symptoms of the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the positive phase, but also experience fatigue after recovering from the disease.

After infection with any strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in most cases, symptoms subside after 15 days. In severe cases, a person may experience symptoms for several weeks or require hospitalization for treatment. These are patients with high viral load and underlying disease.

Any signs of Covid-19 that appear 90 days after the patient has tested negative is called post-Covid-19.

Hair loss, fatigue, muscle pain… are on the list of symptoms post-Covid-19. As scientists continue to expand their study of the disease’s impact on our bodies, they find two manifestations in 70% of cases of persistent Covid-19 syndrome.

Two common symptoms in post-Covid-19

According to a new study from the University of Cambridge, 10% of Covid-19 patients experience some neurological problem after recovering from the disease. In particular, memory problems and lack of concentration are common in about 70% of cases of persistent Covid-19 syndrome.

People with these two symptoms often struggle to complete cognitive tests. 75% of people who suffer from neurological problems after contracting Covid-19 say they have difficulty concentrating at work. These signs last for about 6 months to 1 year after infection.

Other symptoms of post-Covid-19

Patients may experience all of the following symptoms or only have to deal with 1-2: Tingling sensation in the skin, fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, joint pain, chest tightness, insomnia, muscle pain or headache, fast or pounding heartbeat, depression, anxiety, fever, dizziness when standing up…

What should you do

The SARS-CoV-2 virus and variants affect our organs in many ways. The virus multiplies in the respiratory system and affects mainly the lungs, but can also travel to other organs and cause damage.

Therefore, you need to keep a close watch health from the time the first symptoms appear. If you notice any lingering signs of Covid-19 you should contact your doctor and get appropriate treatment. In some cases, prolonged Covid-19 can lead to blood clots, organ failure, depression and insomnia.
