Female student tells the story of getting married to a 27-year-old university teacher

Age difference is always a sensitive issue in relationships emotional because it is often gossiped and criticized by people around.

“The other woman married an old but rich man” or “That young man was married to a person who was his grandmother’s age because she had a big company”,… are thoughts that are often imposed on couples with age differences.

But not everyone is like that, everything has this or that. There are still many people who accept to marry someone much older than themselves because of true and sincere love.

That is the story of a woman named Mariam Trela, 26 years old. She married the teacher who taught her to be a husband and her husband is 27 years older, which is twice her age.

Despite being misunderstood by everyone that her husband is the grandfather of her children, Mariam still insists that her love for her husband, Grzegorz Trela, is a happy couple love like any other normal couple.

Mariam’s husband is a professor of Philosophy at a university in Morogoro, Tanzania. This is also the place where Mariam attended university before.

The couple has a 27 year age difference.

The couple first dated in May 2017. That time is always very memorable and full of memories for the two of them. They got married in July 2018 in the blessing and whisper of the people around.

At the end of 2018, the happy couple welcomed their first son and now he is 3 years old. The baby is cute, agile and has brown skin like his mother.

Mariam has created a Youtube channel to share about her special little family and record her growing up time. Mariam shared: “Our children grow up very quickly.

It won’t be long before they grow up and mature and come out into the world and no longer be around their parents often. Therefore, I want this YouTube channel as a means to keep track of my child’s growing up journey.”

The videos that Mariam posted received a lot of attention from the online community. Many people congratulate the small family for a happy and warm life.

The love between teachers and students and the age difference as well as skin color are also factors that make Mariam’s family so attractive and curious to viewers. However, besides compliments and encouragement, their family also encountered a lot of negative comments from online users.

Mariam shared that because of the difference in age and appearance, she and her husband and children were subjected to a lot of stares and “uncourteous” questions from everyone.

Sometimes while walking on the street, someone will compliment that her son has a handsome-looking grandfather. She had to explain to them that it was her father, not him.

Maybe it’s because of the pilot hair and the wrinkles of age that make everyone so confused.

Age difference but they are still happy together.

Mariam also sometimes feels lost because where she and her family live there are very few people of color. Her and her son’s brown skin color became more prominent than ever. Many old-fashioned people with racist thinking also think that she is someone who clings to her husband – a white man because of his desire for wealth.

People assume that white skin is richer and more luxurious than black skin. But that is extremely outdated and racist thinking. Mariam said her husband is not rich, she is also an elementary school teacher and can support her own finances.

Mariam asserts that it is true that there are still differences between her and her husband, because the two were born and raised in two different cultures, two different continents. The two also follow religion, beliefs, politics and have different life experiences.

However, that is not a barrier but a bridge that helps both have the opportunity to learn more about each other. Since two people have differences, life is also much more interesting.

Mariam asserts that: “Love Our team encountered many difficulties, mainly due to cultural differences. But we still overcame it all because we patiently learned from each other gradually.”
