The teacher in Tra Vinh accused of abusing many male students asked to stop teaching

Regarding the case that the teacher of Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted (Tra Vinh City) was accused of abusing many male students, on March 29, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, the school’s principal informed: “This teacher is teaching grade 12. Therefore, he is afraid of affecting his teaching when the investigation agency invites him to work. I would like to temporarily stop teaching and switch to another job.”

On the same day, Colonel Phan Thanh Quan, Deputy Director and Head of the Tra Vinh Provincial Police Department, said that the police agency received 4 denunciations from 4 former students of Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted, accusing Mr. teacher mentioned above. The police are currently verifying these allegations.

As VTC News reported, on February 25, Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted received information on social media that was spreading that a school’s Literature teacher was accused of abusing many male students.

However, at that time, the teacher was accused of being on a business trip, so on March 10, the school held a meeting with this teacher to clarify.

“The school held an extended meeting, revolving around relevant issues on social networks. The teacher is accused of asserting that such information is not available. The school has a report sent to the Department of Education and Training for verification. Principal of High School for the Gifted Nguyen Thien Thanh said.

Regarding the incident, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Van, Director of Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training, said that the case is being investigated and verified by the police.

“When the official verification results are available, the Department will provide information”, Ms. Van said.
