According to the indictment of the People’s Procuracy of Nghe An province, on December 3, 2020, Ly A Po was called by a Laotian to transport 80 cakes of heroin and 50 kg of meth from Hanoi to Nghe An for 500 million VND.

After this Laotian paid another 300 million dong (total 800 million dong), Po invited Giang A Minh and Vu A Thang to join him to deliver the goods.

At this time, the Lao people hired more Season A Vu to transport drugs for 50 million VND, and at the same time, they brought Vu to Ky Son district (Nghe An) to wait.

On December 5, 2020, according to the instructions of the “tycoon”, Po’s group was assigned a car and 20 million VND to travel from Hanoi to Nghe An.

On the morning of December 7, 2020, Po’s group met Vu at a motel in Muong Xen town (Ky Son district, Nghe An). At dawn on December 8, 2020, Thang drove a car carrying Po, Minh and Vu to the Vietnam – Laos border area to receive 8 sacks of “goods” from a group of strangers.

When Thang drove the car to Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province), the police force arrested and seized 150 white powdered wheels in the car (weighing more than 64 kg) suspected of being heroin and 126 white crystal pack (weight 175 kg) suspected methamphetamine.

During the examination, the Criminal Technology Division (Nghe An Provincial Police) concluded: Only 10 cakes (with a weight of more than 3.5 kg) obtained from the subjects were drugs. The remaining samples did not find any drug ingredients. Therefore, the investigating agency determined that Ly A Po, Mua A Vu, Giang A Minh, and Vu A Thang should be criminally responsible for transporting more than 3.5 kg of drugs.

After considering the role of each defendant in the case, the jury sentenced the defendants Ly A Po, Giang A Minh and Vu A Thang to death; sentenced defendant Season A Vu to life in prison for the crime of “illegal transportation of narcotics”.
