Commencement of construction of passenger terminal at Long Thanh airport

On the afternoon of March 30, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) commenced the construction of packages 5 and 6 (the station pile driving item) of component 3 project of Long Thanh International Airport.

To implement these two packages, contractors have to construct nearly 1,600 bored piles with a diameter of 0.8-1.2 m, so that in October, the construction of passenger terminals can be deployed in time – the most important item. of Long Thanh airport.

Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACV, said that the construction of station piles marked a strong start for the project to be completed on schedule and with the quality required by the National Assembly and the Government. The construction units have had many solutions, signed a commitment to complete the set targets.

According to ACV’s report, up to now, the construction of ground leveling and drainage continues to be carried out. The atmosphere at the construction site is very bustling with thousands of workers, engineers and more than 600 machines and equipment.

Long Thanh International Airport has a capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year. Estimated total project investment capital is about 336,630 billion VND (about 16 billion USD). In which, the first phase is invested 114,450 billion VND (about 5.45 billion USD), expected to be completed and put into operation in 2025.

In stage one, airport to build items of runways, parking lots, air traffic control towers, cargo terminals; two 6-lane wide roads connecting the airport with National Highway 51, Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway…
