According to the latest report of the General Statistics Office, Hanoi continues to hold the leading position with the most expensive prices in the country.
Specifically, the 2021 Spatial Cost of Living Index (SCOLI) Report just released by the General Statistics Office shows that Hanoi has the highest SCOLI index.
Quang Ninh ranks second in the country with a SCOLI index equal to 99.5% compared to Hanoi. Third is Ho Chi Minh City (98.98%); Da Nang ranked 4th (96.4%), Hai Phong ranked 5th (95.58%)…
This is an unexpected figure when last year, Quang Ninh ranked 6th on this list.
In the opposite direction, Tra Vinh is the locality with the lowest spatial cost of living index in the country, equal to 87.61% compared to Hanoi. The average price of Tra Vinh’s commodity groups compared to Hanoi’s ranges from 76.58%-99.63%. The second lowest priced locality in the country is Hau Giang with the SCOLI index in 2021 equaling 87.68%. The average price of Hau Giang’s commodity groups is at 65.38%-99.24% compared to Hanoi.
By region, the Red River Delta region holds the most expensive position in the country. The second most expensive is the Northern Midlands and Mountains with the SCOLI index in 2021 equal to 99.61% compared to the Red River Delta. Following is the Southeast (99.04%); North Central Coast and Central Coast (98.74%); Central Highlands (97.57%).
