More than 34,000 newly established businesses in the first 3 months of 2022

According to the General Statistics Office, the whole country had 14,300 newly registered enterprises in March 2022 with a total capital of 193,600 billion dong, up 96% and 127% respectively over the previous month. On average, each new enterprise entering the market has a capital of 13.5 billion VND, a sharp increase compared to the same period last year.

In the first three months of the year, there were more than 34,600 newly established enterprises, an increase of 18% over the same period and the highest level ever.

The number of businesses returning to work this month also increased, reaching 4,300 businesses. Meanwhile, enterprises withdrawing from the market by suspending business for a definite time, waiting for dissolution and completing dissolution procedures was 6,500, a double-digit decrease over the same period.

In the first quarter of the year, there were nearly 34,600 newly established enterprises and 25,600 enterprises returning to operation, up 18% and 74% respectively over the same period, reaching the highest level ever. If new and additional registered capital is counted, businesses have poured 1.17 million billion dong into the market.

This number partly shows that the confidence of the business community has gradually returned after two years of the outbreak. In Ho Chi Minh City, the number of newly born businesses increased by 24% compared to the same period last year, while Hanoi – the locality with the highest number of infections in the country – also saw a 6.6% increase in the number of new businesses.

The number of businesses that ceased to exist in the first three months of the year was 4,355, down nearly 17%.
