Each household only needs to invest from 50 to 60 million VND to buy a foal about 5 months old. If well cared for, after 3 years the mare starts to reproduce, the average mare will give birth to 1 foal/year.

5 month old ponies can be sold for sale; if raised to adulthood, the value is from 50 to 55 million VND/head, the male horse will have a higher economic value, averaging about 55 – 60 million VND/head. Compared to raising meat horses or raising buffaloes and cows, raising white horses is quite easy but is assured of the output of the product.

“Horse breeding is relatively leisurely, does not require too much technology, both takes advantage of the grazing area and natural food sources, and brings much higher economic efficiency,” said Nhuan.
