VinFast builds electric vehicle factory in North Carolina

Phase 1 of the plant will start construction right in 2022 after receiving the construction permit and is expected to be operational in July 2024. The first models produced at the factory include the VF 9 – a 7-seat large SUV and the VF 8 – a 5-seat mid-size SUV.
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and Vingroup Vice President and Global VinFast General Director Le Thi Thu Thuy signed a cooperation agreement on investing in building a VinFast factory in North Carolina.

VinFast was established in 2017 with its headquarters in Hanoi and a modern, large-scale production complex with a capacity of up to 950,000 vehicles per year by 2026 in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
Currently, VinFast has established operations in international markets, including the US, Canada, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The company’s green product ecosystem is distributing in Vietnam including car electric scooters, electric motorbikes, electric buses, charging station systems and clean energy solutions.
