BIDV inaugurated a community house to avoid floods and plant protective trees along the coast in Ha Tinh

This is an action to fulfill the commitment to build community houses to avoid floods and plant trees from the contributions of athletes participating in the “BIDVRUN – For a Green Life 2021” Run; At the same time, it is a meaningful activity in the series of programs towards the 65th anniversary of BIDV Traditional Day (April 26, 1957 – April 26, 2022).

Community house to avoid floods in Cam Due commune (Cam Xuyen district) is the first project inaugurated in BIDV’s program to build 10 flood-proof houses in provinces that frequently experience floods.

Community house to avoid floods in Cam Due commune has a total investment of 2.5 billion VND, built with 2 floors with a floor area of ​​500m2. Under normal conditions, the Community House serves meeting, physical training, sports… activities of the people; When storms and floods come, the first floor will be a shelter for livestock, and the second floor will be used as a shelter for people…

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Hoang Trung Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee – acknowledged and highly appreciated BIDV’s efforts and contributions to socio-economic development. as well as activities for the community in Ha Tinh province during the past time. At the same time, we hope that BIDV will continue to accompany and share with Ha Tinh province to contribute to the stability and development of people’s lives.

Representative of BIDV speaking at the program, Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang – Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Trade Union of BIDV – said: “BIDV selects difficult areas, often heavily affected by storms and floods to finance the construction of community houses to avoid floods. The first flood-proof house was built by BIDV in Cam Due commune – the “flood center” of Ha Tinh province – with a capacity of about 250 people, enough essential living space for people when the flood returns.

The first community house to avoid floods in Cam Due is a model for BIDV to continue to build the next 10 projects in the Central region in the period of 2022-2023. In 2022, 02 community houses to avoid floods will continue to be built in Ha Tinh province.

Expressing his excitement when witnessing the inauguration of the anti-flood house, Mr. Tran Trong Ky, Chairman of Cam Due Commune People’s Committee, shared: “The people of Cam Due commune are delighted with the spacious flood-proof community house built by BIDV.

From now on, people feel more secure, no longer worry about finding shelter every rainy season. People in the commune will raise their awareness of conservation so that they can use this meaningful work for a long time.”

Planting tens of thousands of casuarina trees along the Ha Tinh coast

Responding to the Prime Minister’s Project “Growing 01 billion trees in the period 2021 – 2025”, BIDV has implemented the program “Growing 01 million trees” in localities across the country. In which, for the central coastal provinces, BIDV sets the goal of planting a series of coastal protective trees to contribute to minimizing the impact and damage of floods and natural disasters on people’s lives.

With Ha Tinh province, BIDV will plant 38,000 new casuarina trees in coastal areas. In which, at the launching ceremony of tree planting on March 30, 2022, BIDV cooperated with Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union to plant 38,000 casuarina trees along the coast of Thach Hai commune, Thach Ha district. The remaining trees will be handed over by BIDV to the locality to plant and take care of in the near future…

Building a community house to avoid floods and planting 1 million trees are two programs for the community that BIDV cares about and invests in with the desire to contribute to environmental protection, improve the landscape, and respond to, and minimize the impact of, the environment. impacts of climate change, thereby contributing positively to the sustainable development of the country.

Within the framework of the program, BIDV has also implemented many meaningful social security activities: Giving 20 gifts to poor households in Thach Hai and Cam Due communes; giving 10 gifts to children with good academic standing in difficult circumstances. Besides, BIDV Youth Union gave 500 books to the House of Wisdom in Trung Thanh village (Cam Due commune).
