Burning inn, one person died
HanoiThe six-storey, 170-square-meter inn in Phu Do ward, Nam Tu Liem district, caught fire violently, killing one person and injuring five others.
At 19:00 on March 31, smoke and fire emitted from the first floor of the inn located in lane 60, Phu Do street, Phu Do ward. The tenants scrambled to find a way out, but the first floor for motorbikes was on fire, and the way to the tum floor was also full of smoke.
“I was on the third floor, heard the fire, tried to run to the tum floor, after a while, I was rescued by the firemen. Only when I got out did I dare to think I was still alive,” Mr. Hoang Viet said.
The Hanoi police dispatched seven fire engines, ambulances and more than 30 soldiers from the PC07 Division and the Nam Tu Liem District Police to the scene. By 19:30, the fire was completely extinguished.
Initially, the Nam Tu Liem District Police said that the fire killed one person and injured five people, including four children. Police gave seven other people safe evacuation instructions.
At the scene, the first floor has many cars burned. Lane 60 Phu Do Street was blocked off, an ambulance was standing outside the burning house.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire, not ruling out the possibility of a fire.
