Environmental protection tax reduction of 2,000 VND/liter of gasoline from April 1
On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue signed and promulgated Resolution No. 18/2022/UBTVQH15 on environmental protection tax rates for gasoline, oil and grease.
The resolution states: Reducing 50% of the environmental protection tax rate on gasoline (except ethanol), diesel oil, fuel oil, lubricants and grease from April 1, 2022 to the end of December 31, 2022; reduce 70% of the environmental protection tax rate for kerosene from April 1, 2022 to the end of December 31, 2022.
Specifically, the environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil, grease, excluding jet fuel, from April 1, 2022 to the end of December 31, 2022 is regulated as follows: Gasoline (except ethanol) is 2000 VND/liter; fuel oil, lubricant, diesel is 1,000 VND/liter; Kerosene (300 VND/liter); Grease (1,000 VND/kg).
The decision of the National Assembly Standing Committee to reduce the environmental protection tax on gasoline as proposed by the Government is to contribute to stabilizing prices in the face of high gasoline prices.
The environmental protection tax rate for jet fuel complies with the provisions of Resolution No. 13/2021/UBTVQH15 dated December 31, 2021 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
The environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil and grease from January 1, 2023 shall comply with the provisions of Section I, Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution No. 579/2018/UBTVQH14 dated September 26, 2018 of the Committee. Standing National Assembly on Environmental Protection Tariff.
This Resolution takes effect from April 1, 2022.
The environmental protection tax rate for gasoline, oil and grease specified in Section I, Clause 1, Article 1 of Resolution No. 579/2018/UBTVQH14 dated September 26, 2018 of the National Assembly Standing Committee shall not be applied. April 2022 to the end of December 31, 2022.
The National Assembly Standing Committee assigned the Government to direct ministries, ministerial-level agencies, other central agencies, relevant localities and units to implement this Resolution./.
