Sluggish in Vietnam, Toyota Innova suddenly revealed an electric version in Indonesia

Before being officially revealed, leaked images show that the Innova EV Concept has some changes compared to the current internal combustion engine version. The front grille area has been sealed, the bumper also has a slight change and there are more positioning lights placed below and some blue strips that make it easy to see that this is an electric car. .

The interior of the Innova EV Concept has been changed with a new fairly modern instrument cluster, with a rather small size on-board power consumption meter (Eco) located at the central entertainment screen. Other details such as the steering wheel or the central screen are no different.

In addition to the images above, the specifications and price of the Toyota Innova EV Concept have not been announced yet. The introduction of the electric version of Innova is said to be part of Toyota’s plan to launch 10 electric models in the Indonesian market in the next few years.

A few days ago, the third generation Toyota Innova was tested on the streets of Thailand and India. It is expected that the new generation of this MPV line will be widely introduced to customers by the end of this year.

In Viet Nam, Toyota Innova is considered as one of the “goddess” models in the history of Toyota Vietnam (TMV) in particular and the Toyota brand mark in general. However, in recent years, this MPV model has proved quite sluggish.

At the end of 2021, the Innova model sold only 3,002 vehicles, equivalent to an average of 250 vehicles per month, 1/3 of the amount in the first period of Innova’s appearance, and one-fifth of the peak period of sales. At the same time, it was surpassed by many other younger competitors.
