Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chuc (50 years old, living in My Tu commune, My Tu district, Soc Trang province) said that he has been catching worms for only 4-5 years. Every morning, he rides a motorbike to carry tools such as a racket and 2 plastic tubs to the Maspero River in Soc Trang City to catch worms and sell them to other locations. business ornamental fish or rearing fry.
“Usually only worms can be caught in the morning, when the water is low (the water is low), until the water is seaweed (the water is up) is back. Every day I also only earn about 500,000 VND, enough to cover my life. family,” he said.

Talking about his experience of finding worms in the river, Mr. Chuc said, observing the color of the water and the fineness of the mud, if the water is cloudy and the mud is fine, there are definitely many worms there.
Once the location of the worms has been identified, the person catches the racquet under the water, soaks it up to the neck, then uses his hand to push the mud into the racket until the racket is full, then bring it up. After that, the stage is shaking the racket, filtering the mud to get out, and the worms are left.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung (living in Ward 6, Soc Trang City) said that the job of worming and catching worms, although earning a good income, is very hard. Soaking in murky water day in and day out is easy to get skin diseases.

Many people in the profession confided that doing this job is hard, arduous, and dangerous, but it gives a stable income, because they have to “wear” karma for a living.
