The US is about to complete the destruction of the last chemical weapons stockpile

The process of destroying the chemical weapons stockpile was announced by Washington officials during a meeting at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague (Netherlands) last week. According to OPCW, chemical weapons containing nerve agents stored at the Blue Grass special facility in Richmond, Kentucky, are in the process of destruction and are placed under the supervision of OPCW inspectors.

So far, the US has completed the destruction of group 2 and 3 chemical weapons, and destroyed 97.65% of group 1 chemical weapons – the most dangerous group.
