Dell is currently the number 1 enterprise in many product categories in the Vietnamese market such as external storage systems, storage systems for small and medium enterprises, the number of x86 servers shipped. This unit also ranked first in terms of revenue of workstations, hyper-converged infrastructure equipment (HCI Appliance).

With consumer products, Dell Technologies is leading the Vietnamese market in terms of market share in consumer desktops and laptops in 2021.

The digital infrastructure of Vietnamese businesses has been upgraded a lot in the past two years.

According to the representative of Dell Technologies, the strong growth of this business during the pandemic is due to the strong development of the telecommunications, banking and financial services industries in Vietnam.

The habit of working and learning remotely, along with changes in payment methods of users and businesses, have led to the need for improving the technology infrastructure of domestic enterprises.

Sharing with PV VietNamNet, Mr. Tran Vu – CEO of Dell Technologies Vietnam said that investing in programs to support national digital transformation is becoming a technology trend in Vietnam. Areas of great interest in Vietnam today include cybersecurity, multi-cloud computing, data management, and especially the deployment of 5G networks.

According to Vu, the Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for Vietnam to shorten the gap in digital infrastructure with countries in the region such as Indonesia and the Philippines.

“Some localities of Vietnam such as Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh have developed smart city models right during the pandemic. When entering these provinces, users only need to download an application on their smartphones to be able to see the vehicles running on the road thanks to the surveillance camera system,” the expert said.

In general, the time of the pandemic is the time when Vietnam’s digital infrastructure is upgraded. At the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic in 2021, the infrastructure of large telco companies in Vietnam has developed very quickly to meet the needs of users. This is also the reason why Vietnam is becoming an important market for many large technology corporations in the world.
