Break into the school toilet to secretly film

In the video recording the incident, a man wearing a gray shirt covering his head and wearing a mask was caught secretly filming in the women’s restroom. After struggling with several female students in front of the toilet, this person ran away (see video).

Nguyen Lan, a freshman at the School of Management and Business (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) said the incident happened during recess. That day, there were only two classes of freshmen studying in the area. When she heard a loud “perverted” scream from the women’s restroom, at first Lan thought it was a joke. When there were more screams, the female student and many other friends ran to the scene.

“At that time, we panicked and didn’t understand what was happening. One friend grabbed the stranger’s hand, but he broke free and ran away. Many female friends cried because of fear,” Lan said.

Immediately after the incident happened, the students reported to the classroom teacher to report to the school. Mr. Hoang Minh Thang, Head of Administration Department, School of Management and Business, said that the school had timely encouraged and reassured students’ morale.

Mr. Thang informed that the school still has a surveillance camera system in the buildings, with two layers of security and a student face recognition system for attendance. However, because of Covid-19, they all wear masks when entering school. “Maybe bad guys took advantage of this to sneak in. We have continued to strengthen strict protection to ensure the safety of the children,” Mr. Thang said.

Lan said, after reporting the incident, the school installed more cameras in the hallway, the security force also checked more often during the lessons.

The School of Management and Business reported the officer to the police, instructing students how to handle if they encounter a similar situation.
