Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s son replaces his father to lead Real Madrid this weekend

According to Spanish media, coach Carlo Ancelotti’s son, assistant Davide Ancelotti, will direct Real Madrid against Celta Vigo this weekend. Currently, Carlo Ancelotti is in isolation due to Covid-19 and Davide Ancelotti is replacing his father in running the coaching business.

This is not the first time Davide Ancelotti has replaced Carlo Ancelotti in charge. Previously, Davide Ancelotti used to lead Napoli to face AS Roma (lost 1-2 away) in Serie A in 2019 because Carlo Ancelotti was banned from directing.

According to the schedule, the Real Madrid match against Celta Vigo in the 30th round of La Liga will take place at 23:30 on April 2. Davide Ancelotti will continue to lead during his visit to Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at dawn on April 7, if Carlo Ancelotti does not recover in time.

Davide Ancelotti was born in 1989 and used to be a footballer, but soon retired at the age of 20 and switched to coaching. Over the past 10 years, Davide Ancelotti has always been Carlo Ancelotti’s right-hand man at PSG, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid.

The two Ancelottis together have conquered a series of titles at PSG, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Winning the Spanish Super Cup earlier this year, is the latest achievement in their trophy collection.
