Goods from China are difficult to import, people selling online are like sitting on fire

Tired of waiting for goods imported from China to sell online, many people are miserable because in addition to capital loss, they also suffer additional losses in warehousing and personnel costs.

It has been more than a month now, Mr. Hoang Thinh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) has to stop the online sales page and give 2 of his employees a break because there is no product to sell.

“As an online sales person, the most important thing is to find “hot” products, then it is time to import goods. Each product is only easiest to sell in the first 1-2 months. Over time, many other people will also discover and sell this product. Competition began to appear, the parties mainly competed on price, the consumption was therefore more difficult. In addition, many places selling poor quality products but still advertising as good products lead to this item being “broken” and unable to be sold anymore.Mr. Thinh said.

According to Mr. Thinh, importing goods from China is not too complicated, just order and transfer money, the goods will be delivered to your hands after about 15-20 days. This is also the time when online sellers like Mr. Thinh prepare advertising campaigns, wait for the goods to arrive, then start selling.

Being “profitable”, especially in the context of COVID-19 making customers prefer to buy goods online, from the time before the Lunar New Year, Thinh’s work began to slow down because of importing goods from China back. so it’s more difficult, sometimes even waiting 1 month to 1.5 months can’t see the goods.

The carriers all reported that it took longer because the Chinese side was strengthening epidemic prevention and control at the border gates.. The goods did not arrive in time, I had to give the staff an early Tet holiday. That shipment waits after Tet and then processed. However, the goods have not arrived yet. There are no goods for sale, both owners and employees are unemployed. I still have 200 million dong in that shipment“.

Similarly, Mr. Duong Thanh Hoang (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) also said that he is temporarily suspending his activities after nearly 3 years of working in online sales because since the Lunar New Year until now, it is very difficult for him to import goods. from China, while his source of goods mainly originates from this country.

“I imported a shipment of nearly 50 million VND from the beginning of February until now and still have not received it. The money from the goods is stuck there while the income is not there because the sale is stopped.”Mr. Hoang Than.

Hoang was informed by the supply and transport units because the Chinese side is tightening the border gates to implement the “zero-COVID” policy.

“I work on a small scale, take advantage of my house as a warehouse, don’t hire employees, so when I don’t have goods to sell, I only get money for the goods. Unlike some big people, who have to hire employees and rent warehouses, they still lose warehouse rent every day, still have to pay staff salaries while there is no product to sell, as long as this continues, the damage increases. up a lot”Mr. Hoang said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Duc Hoang, director of a logistics company specializing in transporting goods from China to Vietnam and vice versa, said:China is tightening a lotborder gate, seaport, city. Goods that Vietnamese people have bought from here but have not been able to go to Vietnam, they have to save the shift, that is, store the goods in the yard in China without an appointment to come to Vietnam.“.

The cost of the shift is also very large, depending on the type of vehicle, the car owner will lose from 800,000 to 2 million VND/day. There is no shortage of people who every day when they open their eyes, they lose 20 – 30 million VND for their shift. Depending on the type of goods and the contract between the shipper and the carrier, this part of the cost will be borne by the owner or the carrier.

“There are orders that we only do the shipping service, the entire cost of keeping the shift is an incurred cost, the shipper has to bear. There are also shipments that we stand to receive goods, the cost of keeping that shift we have to pay. Our company is currently stuck with 3 cars having to stay in China since more than 2 weeks ago. Only the fixed shift fee alone is 50 million VND per car. That means we have already lost 150 million VND in this cost, that is, we still do not know when the new car will be back.”Mr. Hoang said.

In addition, Mr. Hoang also said that his customers have many cases where billions of dong remain in China because they cannot ship goods to Vietnam.
