Chairman of Vinh Hien Commune People’s Committee informed that at about 2pm on the same day, a tornado swept across the commune, tore off the roofs of 27 houses, sank 7 fishing boats on the lagoon and injured 4 people. Specifically, 9 houses in Hien Hoa 2 village, 11 houses in Hien An 1 village, 7 houses in Hien Van 2 village were speeded and 7 boats and boats sunk of fishermen in Hien Hoa 2 village.

Rain and strong tornadoes also caused 4 minor injuries, including 3 people in Hien An 1 village and 1 person in Hien Hoa 2 village.

“After the tornado passed, from yesterday afternoon (March 31) to this afternoon (April 1), militia forces, border guards and Phu Loc District Youth Union were mobilized to repair and rebuild houses. For some households with difficult conditions that were severely damaged, but for those with little damage, people repaired themselves and this afternoon continued to support people to overcome the consequences caused by tornadoes.” Mr. Nguyen Tam added.
