Medvedev vs Hurkacz: Medvedev fails at Miami Open

Thus, after disappointing at Indian Wells, Medvedev continued to lose himself and missed his appointment with the No. 1 position in the world.

Medvedev was crowned world No. 1 for the first time at the end of February, when Novak Djokovic got in trouble and couldn’t play.

Two weeks ago, a defeat at Indian Wells cost him the No. 1 spot. Now, the 26-year-old has once again passed up the chance to overtake Djokovic to take the top spot.

Hurkacz will continue his Miami Open title defense with a semi-final against Alcaraz or Kecmanovic.
