Nghe An is about to open its first pedestrian street
The first pedestrian space of Vinh City, Nghe An, located near Ho Chi Minh Square, is expected to operate from April 8.
The pedestrian street is about 1.5 km long, of which the section of Ho Tung Mau (from Cau Nai to the beginning of Nguyen Trung Ngan street) is 430 m long; section Nguyen Van Cu (the first point intersects with Ho Tung Mau street, the end point intersects with Le Hong Phong street) is 500 m long. The remaining section is Nguyen Trung Ngan (from the beginning of Lane 2 to the intersection of Nguyen Van Cu Street) and Nguyen Tai (the intersection of Ho Tung Mau Street to the intersection of Nguyen Van Cu Street).
Explaining the choice of the four walking paths mentioned above, leaders of Vinh City said that these routes have the ability to link the central area, forming a vibrant circle. There are also hundreds of food, fashion, art and entertainment businesses on these routes, helping to promote regional cuisine and increase consumption of goods. Ho Tung Mau Street is located next to Ho Chi Minh Square and can be connected to cultural and artistic activities on holidays and Tet.
In preparation for the pedestrian street, on Ho Tung Mau street, rows of mango, milkweed, and field corn trees have been replaced by more than 200 banyan trees over 5m; Nguyen Van Cu street was replaced by 157 Christmas trees 18-25 cm in diameter, now green. The renovation of sidewalks, installation of decorative lights, free wifi, parking… have all been completed.
It is expected that the pedestrian street will be opened every Friday and Saturday from 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm. When the street is in operation, the relevant units will check and handle violations of encroachment on sidewalks, roadways, parking at the wrong places, ensuring security, dividing traffic …
Before that in 2019, Vinh City opened Cao Thang night market in front of Vinh market gate with a length of 200 m.
