Pentagon no longer knows about Russian military convoy near Kiev

Reuters quoted Pentagon spokesman John Kirby as saying on March 31: “I don’t even know if they (Russian military convoy) are still in existence at this point… They have failed to fulfill their mission. its service”.

In early March, the British Ministry of Defense cited intelligence that the Russian military convoy was “arranged” on a distance of 65 km. Due to the fierce resistance of Ukrainian forces, technical problems and traffic jams, the convoy could only move little by little when it was more than 30 km from the center of Kiev.

So far, no mention of this convoy has been made and their fate is unknown. Most recently, on March 29, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin announced that they had decided to “dramatically reduce combat operations” around the capital Kiev, instead focusing on the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.

Ukraine also said it was sending dozens of buses to evacuate civilians from Mariupol following the Russian ceasefire announcement.

The Kiev side added that they will resume negotiations with Moscow on April 1 in an online form.
