After a long time of elimination, the English Football Association (FA) recently said that from the 2022-2023 season, the Premier League will re-apply the above law. Clubs will still have 3 substitutions but the total number of players on the field will increase to 5, instead of 3 as usual. Clubs can also register up to 9 players on the reserve list.
