Thailand cancels Covid-19 testing upon entry

From today, visitors do not need to present a negative test certificate for Covid-19 upon entry.

This policy, which applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests, was published in the Royal Gazette on March 31. However, travelers still need to be tested after entry.

Test & Go riders must reserve a hotel for their first night in Thailand. This is where they will stay as they wait for the test results. On the fifth day, customers only need to take a quick test and declare the results themselves.

Guests who have not been fully vaccinated must be isolated at a government-designated hotel or resort for the first five days. This is the policy under the Alternative Quarantine program. Guests who test negative on Thursday will be allowed to travel around the country. Before flying to Thailand, travelers must apply for a QR code Thailand Pass.

The government is gradually easing entry requirements with tourists in the context of living with a new type of epidemic. If infections do not spike after Songkran (April 13-15), Thailand is expected to declare Covid-19 as an endemic disease from July 1, instead of the current epidemic.
