Gasoline prices recently hit a record high, causing the cost of living for UK households to also take a hit. Because of that, many people are forced to choose to cut spending as much as possible. Meet the man who owns the smallest car in the world with the lowest gas bill in the UK, with only 7 pounds (about 209,000 VND).

Alex Orchin (31 years old), is living in the village of Wivelsfield, east of Sussex, England. When we got there, we saw him driving his blue Peel P50 to work.

The car has only three wheels, 134cm long, 98cm wide, 100cm high and has a 5 liter fuel tank. It has a top speed of just 23 mph. Although the size is a bit “modest”, Alex can still sit comfortably in it.

Alex is an avid motorcycle collector and says the hobby started after watching Jeremy Clarkson drive a car on Top Gear. He revealed: “I have always had a special interest in antique cars since I was a child. I had the opportunity to test drive vintage cars and had a Model T from 1914 and a Morris Minor from 1968.”

“This little car of mine always attracts a lot of attention wherever I go. Many people were surprised because they did not think it was so small. I can fit a shopping bag on the left side of the car, next to the handbrake, that’s all,” explained Alex.

This “tiny” car was produced in 2017, based on original design from the first production cars in the 60s, the mini engine allows Alex to travel comfortably at a moderate speed.

Last year, he began his 1,488-mile journey across the UK from John O’Groats in northern Scotland on November 13 and arrived at Land’s End in Cornwall, southwest England on December 4. . He completed his goal within three weeks and has raised more than £11,000 for the charity Children in Need.

Alex shared: “Of all the cars I have, this is the one that gets the most attention. If I were to drive a Morris Minor, only auto enthusiasts would come to chat with me. But this Peel P50 appeals to everyone, including those not interested in cars.

Many children also want to have one like me.”
