Training artificial intelligence talents in Ho Chi Minh City

VietAI supported the University of Natural Sciences to train 4,000 students on AI according to the Stanford University curriculum (USA), then expanded to many universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Dr. Luong Minh Thang, Founder of the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Community (VietAI) shared on the morning of April 1 about the cooperation program with the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. The program aims to train 100,000 AI talents in Vietnam by 2030. The University of Natural Sciences is the first school to pilot the program, then expand to Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

The training program is planned to be organized in two groups. Group one is talented bachelor class students, Faculty of Information Technology, University of Natural Sciences who were selected to participate in training classes on machine learning (machine learning), deep learning (deep learning) from experts in the field of computer science and technology. member of VietAI. The second group is 3rd and 4th year students who already have AI knowledge and skills who will be trained to become AI instructors in the future according to the Train the Trainer model to replicate the community of knowledgeable people. Dr. Luong Minh Thang said, VietAI’s programs create an environment for young people to experience through academic playgrounds, using leading tools of technology enterprises and big data sources to you develop ideas about AI. “Students have the opportunity to practice more, interact with leading domestic and international experts in AI to have personal development orientations and work opportunities at domestic and foreign technology enterprises. introduced by us,” said Dr. Thang.

It is expected that each course will last 10 weeks for group one and 6 weeks for group two in a face-to-face, online hybrid format. The program will support incentive scholarships for promising students, or female students who are passionate about AI.

“Vietnamese students are very smart and diligent in research, so I am optimistic that the program will be successful so that we have a generation of leading AI experts who develop products for life,” said Dr. Win expectations.

Many professors, doctors and lecturers at the university have contributed research in the field of AI, contributing to socio-economic development. VietAI is a non-profit organization founded in 2018. To date, VietAI has built an AI community with more than 20,000 members and trained more than 1,000 high-quality AI engineers, three of which have become experts. developing the first and only Google (Google Developer Experts) about machine learning in Vietnam.
