Three people were taken to the emergency room at the Tuy An District Medical Center. However, Huy died. Ms Hong and Mrs Mai were transferred to the emergency room at Phu Yen General Hospital, who are still in critical condition, in a coma.

Preliminary information from the An Dan Commune People’s Committee said that on the evening of March 31, due to a power cut, Mai asked her brother-in-law to turn on the generator to circulate oxygen in the main pool. Mrs Hong, Mrs Mai and nephew Huy slept at home, closing the door.

On the morning of April 1st, Mai’s brother-in-law came to turn off the generator and found that the three men were not moving.

According to the initial assessment, it is possible that the three people above were suffocated by poisonous gas from the generator because the door of the house was closed.
