Vietnam tests nasal spray vaccine against Covid-19 phase 3

On April 1, the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang said it planned to recruit about 3,000 volunteers, aged 18 or older, to test phase 3 vaccines in Khanh Hoa and Quang Nam.

Those who register to participate must ensure healthy criteria, stable mild disease; dose injection Covid-19 vaccine last at least 3 months ago; have never been infected with Covid-19 and are willing to comply with the study’s 4 visits.

The phase 3 trial period lasts from now until the end of April. Volunteers participating in the trial are expected to last one year, from the date of using the Covid-19 vaccine in the nasal spray form.

When registering, volunteers will be sampled, checked for health, then sprayed 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine into the nose, 14 days apart each dose. They will be monitored for a year with four regular health visits. A volunteer receives a support of 900,000 VND/visit.

According to the leader of the Pasteur Institute, the clinical trial phases 1 and 2 of the Covid-19 vaccine in the nasal spray form have demonstrated its safety and good immunity. The study was reviewed and approved by regulatory authorities at all levels and the Biomedical Research Ethics Committee.
