The final episode of My Dress-Up Darling has the most changes from manga to anime. In the manga, the episode opens with Gojo working on his next cosplay project. In the anime version, he is making a doll.
The biggest change in this episode of the anime version compared to the manga is Marin’s father. In the manga, this dad comes home to check on Marin and is upset to hear his daughter reveal that she hasn’t done her homework, which prompts her to study with Gojo. In the anime, this conversation is reduced to a phone call and viewers never see Marin’s father on the small screen.
Understandably, the screenwriters wanted the first season to end as joyfully and excitedly as possible. My Dress-Up Darling ends with Marin looking directly into the camera and saying “See you later”, a salute to the audience awaiting season 2.
General My Dress-Up Darling It’s basically an anime that’s very conservative in staying true to the original manga.
